Hey Foster...

That's a good point. And quite frankly it's a valid point for almost any business, or anything you do in life.

For instance, let's say you took a course on "Investing For Your Future Retirement". The instructors and course would no doubt provide a very valuable service in teaching you what the best investments are at different points in your life...and what are not the best investments. They would also show you different techniques and methods to saving and investing..."tricks of the trade". What to look out for when choosing an Investment Advisor or firm, etc. However...when it's time for you to actually take that knowledge and skill and start applying it, or to go out and find an Advisor, a lot of that responsibility falls on your shoulders.

Unless that investment course specifically was simply a service that provided updated ratings on investment firms or advisors, it would not be in their, or your, best interest to supply recommendations or instructions on which agencies or advisors to go to. Especially since firms and advisors go out of business, they change companies, etc.

This video, course, blog and service are dedicated to providing insider knowledge on the actual art and business of Voice Acting, with tips and advice on how to find those good agencies, and then how to interact with them when you do. I have in the videos instructed viewers/students to contact AFTRA/SAG for a complete list of the franchised agents in their area. These are reputable agencies that can also steer you in a direction to other good agencies, if they don't have openings.

So...to make a long comment...not quite as long, I agree with you in that a great service is a service that maintains an updated list with user reviews of agencies in all the different markets around the world. Unfortunately, I am not currently aware of a service like that. Any one else know of one? Please pass along...I'd love to include it in my videos!

Thanks again, Foster...and sorry for such a long response. :)

One step, or at least, key datum missing: Who are the REPUTABLE, non-scammy agencies to which an aspiring voice talent would send their demo? See, that's the real "big secret" that no one wants to acknowledge as such. What are the good agencies? How do you get noticed by them in the first place, assuming you have obtained their contact information?

Riddle me that, and you may have actually provided a service.
